Stingers & Beehive Lounge Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary!
Enter Beehive Lounge & Stingers Pizza located in the inside corner of Lakeside Shoppes on the Pompano Beach side of the nearby Pompano/LBTS border.  Stingers may not be in LBTS but it is close enough to warrant us writing about it considering that several of the employees reside there.  One of the bartenders is even in the family that owns Beachside Village Resort.  This local haunt is beloved by the locals and those whom use them for catering.  The reviews on Yelp indicate 3 out of 5 stars but after investigating and reading some of the reviews it became evident that some of those negative reviews might have been posted by people whom are anti-capitalist.  You see, Stingers loves to host the local Republican Club events (Go-Trump) and some of the negative reviews were posted by people whom happened to be there during the debate party.  We highly doubt those liberals know what a great pizza tastes like!
The establishment located at 1201 So Ocean Blvd was founded 20 years ago by Dave BEE - who naturally went with a Bee themed concept based on the buzz of his surname.  The adjacently connected Beehive Lounge has a huge 8' honeycomb hanging from the ceiling along with a life sized statue of Elvis standing next to an actual grand piano. Dave is from Detroit so the bar tends to attract Lyons fans as well as Patriot fans.  Stingers is famed for making the largest pizzas in South Florida.  One patron we interviewed told us that he thinks their largest pizza could be about 100" in diameter. We went on a Sunday and sampled the Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls and for a fusion style food they are simply addicting and dangerous.  Probably not too healthy apart from the happiness brought on by the flavor burst. As its custom to do on Sunday we had a bloody mary which was made with a mix and not bad but very affordable and the service was good.
Aside from Pizza and Philly Steak Egg Rolls they do have a nice menu.  Not too ample of a menu and not too small. Consider The Big Bee Burger, Flatbread, Fish Tacos w/Mango Sauce or even a Reuben sandwich. Breakfast is served daily from 8am till noon and weekly specials include Turkey on Mondays, Chopped Steak on Tuesdays, Meat Loaf Wednesdays, Pot Roast Thursdays and of course Fish & Chips on Friday. MSU Alumni go there every Saturday (go Spartis) and $6.95 all you can eat pizza buffet on Tuesday nights.  They really take care of the locals via the Bee club which offers deep discounts such as $5. for a large pizza, $2 drinks, second drink on the house etc.  They also offer delivery till midnight. Give them a try!

Art Deco Style Luxury Bathrooms come to LBTS

In order to make our village more beachgoer friendly the city recently installed six public restrooms along with a few extra parking spaces.  The restrooms are free and open to the public. The project design was inspired by 1950's architecture from the township and the lighting and color scheme seem to yearn back to the era of Art Deco which did have a small tentacle reaching into the history of LBTS infrastructure. A ribbon cutting ceremony was celebrated on December 7th 2016.  The whole project took only about two months to construct from start to finish.  We are sure that local restaurant and bar owners will be quite pleased with the end result and so will their patrons. El Mar Greenway Project is next!

On Sunday, December 4, 2016, more than 30,000 motorcyclists and double that amount of people are expected to take part in the “29 th Annual South Florida President’s Council (SFPC) Toys in the Sun Run” presented by the Mardi Gras Casino.
